Cities are transforming their waterfronts from waste areas into interfaces to connect people with a rich and clean environment.

This requires complex concepts to be developed by very creative and multidisciplinary teams. As Naval Architects we have much to say. We have experience in coordinating with Architects, Landscape specialists, Civil engineers, Environmental experts, etc. In commercial ports, we work in cooperation with port engineers to ensure perfect coordination between vessels and facilities, and we develop floating devices when required. We can offer overall planning and design, including sustainability studies in cooperation with fellow specialists.

Beale Street Landing

The floating dock is part of a park comprising a passenger terminal. The dock is open to the general public as an ADA accessible promenade. The unobstructed view towards the Mississippi river has been a challenge for the design team. No supports rise over the pier level in spite of a 15 meters river fluctuation.

The design was awarded upon wining the First Place in an International Competition. Consulmar was invited to participate by RTN Arquitectos

Saint Louis linear Coastal Park –

The Arch

The city required the development of a one mile long linear park between the iconic Saarinen Gateway Arch and the Mississippi river. Balmori’s proposal was to extend the park over the river by means of a sequence of floating islands. Our team developed a set of modular steel floating islands that could be overhauled afloat and in place. The protection barrier from passing by convoys was also a challenge.
